We commenmorate Amin F. from Somalia, who was shot in the head by SEK officers in Frankfurt's train station district on August 2, 2022. He was 23 years old.

Amin F. allegedly threatened two prostitutes with a knife in a hotel room when they did not comply with his wishes. The women managed to escape and called the police. Because there was a suspicion that Amin F. had a firearm with him, the SEK arrived.

The SEK officers forced open the door of the hotel room and set a police dog on Amin F., although he was alone there at the time and posed no danger to anyone. Amin F. allegedly stabbed the dog several times with a knife. He then allegedly made a stabbing motion in the direction of the officers. A police officer then fired six shots at him. Five of them hit him, one of them in the head. Amin F. died on the spot. In addition to the knife, two imitation firearms were later found in the hotel room.

An "insider" criticized to the Frankfurter Rundschau that the officers escalated the situation "completely unnecessarily" with the decision to send the police dog into the room. The public prosecutor's office initiated proceedings against the shooter for manslaughter.
